NEW HAVEN REPUBLICAN JIM O'CONNELL ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR BOARD OF EDUCATION

NHRTC is happy to announce that James O’Connell has announced his candidacy for District One’s Board of Education seat in New Haven which includes Wards 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25 and 26.  O’Connell is running to put students first and to provide professionalism and accountability to the Board of Education.

O'Connell is a lifelong resident of New Haven.  He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and received a B. S. in Health Education with a minor in Biology from Southern Connecticut State University.  O'Connell also holds a M. A. in School Administration & Supervision as well as a 6th Year Certificate from Fairfield University in Private School Administration.  O'Connell holds the CT Professional Educator Certifications for Biology, Chemistry, General Science and School Administration.

O'Connell has taught Science at Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury for the past 42 years where he has served as the chairperson of the Science Department in addition to many other duties.  In addition to his teaching duties, O'Connell has served as a paramedic for more than 35 years primarily in the New Haven and Meriden areas.  

O’Connell's love for the city is expressed in his lifetime dedication to education.  His compassionate nature is reinforced by his service as a paramedic.  O’Connell is the right choice for the Board of Education.  Vote for O’Connell on November 2!
